About Us
History. We have been raising money for Cancer Research UK via Relay for Life since 2010 with our team Creative Academy Cornwall.
This is a year-round event ending with a 24-hour family festival. Most of our fundraising happened at the festival so we were looking for a project we could organise all year. The quilt was one of those 3 o’clock in the morning ideas in March 2016. I have always enjoyed sewing and crafts including having made several hexagon patchwork quilts and I literally dreamt of making a fundraising quilt. Would it work? Would anyone donate? Does my husband think I’ve finally lost the plot? The only way to find out is to try.
Next morning, I used some hexagon paper and planned the layout. I hunted through my fabric stash and began cutting up a gorgeous purple cotton I had been given. By the next Relay committee meeting I had sewn the wording together. Luckily, they thought it was a great idea with several members paying for patches there and then.
Within a few weeks’ donations of fabric, threads and requests for patches started pouring in so we started a Facebook page to show people the patches once they had been embroidered.

- By post £5 plus £5 signed for postage and packing (mainland UK only). Overseas by request.
